Taihen News

It’s been 10 years since we started off with the MBG scan work; back then fans had been very supportive. But now things have certainly changed. Gone are those interactions with fellow fans and the support, these days all the people want are their reading fix. And if you can’t keep up they will steal your projects and bash on you for having a life. Self-serving ungrateful pricks! The fandom has gone rotten at some point and the passion of sharing for the fun of it had gone cold as well, and we have reached the point where we ask ourselves, “is it still worth the effort?”

All the old staff had gone, there are some who still drop by from time to time, but at the moment I’m a one-man army holding up the fort once again. It’s been a long run and I’m getting tired as well. We had completed some projects, we had projects that were stolen (sorry for having a life), we met friends and lost some along the way. With all that said, I think it’s time this old angry fox lay down his gloves and take it easy. To our frequent visitors, THANK YOU ALL from the bottom of our hearts, special mention to Geese! You help keep our spirits up, thanks for all the messages you leave by, we really appreciate it. It doesn’t mean AFS is closing up shop just yet, we still have one project left to close (not unless somebody has the bright idea of stealing that one too). We’ll still release the remaining chapters for the project “Harry”. I just hope I’ll get to finish it soon, but right now AFS will not be putting out any releases till the end of the year (2019) you might hear from us again by the new years. Thank you all once again, do drop us a line from time to time we still read them even though we’re not that active anymore.

P.S. Do check out our twitter page, I put random stuff there that you might find intriguing from time to time! ^_^

While I am sad to see this news, I completely understand. I have been checking on this place from time to time waiting for an update on Magikano, from when I was in high school to present day as a working adult.

I frequent other scanlator and manga sites for my entertainment. Not because I want free manga, light novels, or anime. But because I believe the fans can truly translate it as intended instead of companies that don’t care or have agendas.

I still purchase stuff in order to support the author or creator, but now I am weary of that as well.

English localization of Japanese entertainment is now infiltrated by Political-Social Justice people. They are coming in and trying to push their agendas on entertainment I have come to love. They have ruined American entertainment and now moving on to the next popular Japanese entertainment.

I am sad and depressed cause of this. I just want to have my entertainment to be fun and raunchy. But instead I have to be preached at and sexy characters are being demonized.

After coming home from work I need something that can help me sleep and continue working the next day.

    So Thank You.

You’ve honestly been a shining star of virtue to have been going at this for as long as you have. I’m truly impressed with that tenacity. Although I hardly ever read manga anymore I still remember this place from long ago and still come back every now and then to see how it’s doing. That’s why I only react to your post now.

Anyway, it’s too bad you don’t feel it’s worth the trouble anymore, which I can fully understand and agree on. The manga aggregation sites and the ease with which manga can be read online nowadays has probably something to do with the decline of the smaller communities? I’m not sure, but I do miss the old times. Cheers! Who knows, maybe if you truly miss the interaction, you could try and find another scanlation group which could use your help. Whatever you do I wish you all the luck and happiness possible!

Oh gosh, no! Not this group! Anyway, I understand that you feel you need a break. I don’t think the times have changed necessarily. At times the fanbase can be at it’s worse, but also at it’s best. And the fanbase is not a monolith either, with different types of people coming and going. I hope you find yourself rejuvenated, and wish you the best.

Im realy sorry to read all this. Ive been a manga addict for a few years now but i have always appresheated the quality of the works guys like you have been putting out. I have noticed a decline in the number of small scanners putting out lesser known and less popular works like they used to and im sad to say its probably because of people like me starting to care a little to late. I hope you fair well in whatever it is that you guys decide to do in the future and even though i never realy knew you i will miss you.
